Production

Larco Foods B.V.'s aim is to maintain the artisanal taste and quality of earlier times, including with the use of today's modern techniques.

Firstly, the required raw materials are carefully selected and purchased. With chicken, for example, the meat is obtained by boiling hens ("boilers") and, after the boiling process, stripping the meat off the carcasses by hand.

The raw materials are packed into the consumer packaging both manually and mechanically. So the meat elements are mostly hand packed so that their quality does not suffer whereas herbs, sauces and the like are packed via an automatic system.

The packs are then sealed and sterilised to make the products keep longer. This process is entirely computer-controlled and it is crucial in ensuring that the products can be kept in your larder at home without loss of flavour or the risk of spoiling.
Once the products have been sterilised they are coded, labelled, packed and prepared for transportation.
