Quality / production

Partly through making use of present day modern techniques, Larco Foods aims to maintain the traditional taste, quality and characteristic of the old days.

First of all, the necessary basic ingredients are carefully selected and bought. For example, chicken meat is the meat obtained through the cooking of hens (soup chickens) and it is removed manually from the carcasses after the cooking process.

The filling process of basic ingredients into consumer packaging is done by manual labour as well as mechanized processes. In this way, meat components are usually packaged by hand so that quality is not compromised, while the filling with sauce and suchlike is carried out by means of an automated system.

Afterwards, the packages are closed and sterilised to extend product shelf life. This process is completely computer-controlled and is decisive for storage of the products, without the loss of taste or danger of decay at your home in the store cupboard. After the products are sterilised, they are coded, labelled, packaged and made ready for transport.

All processes and systems are controlled daily and this is carried out by our own quality department. However, an external control takes place by independent auditors who assess the total process and certify it (IFS). Concrete, this means that we are able, at all times, to see the origins of all materials used, for example, this even concerns the origins of the chickens used and the farm they came from!
